A little neat tool which supports you in your daily Destroyer and Cruiser routines.

WoWs 0.5.16.0+

What is this Modification about?

This mod adds two simple and small counters on the right side of the chat whenever you sit in a DD or Cruiser with a possible smoke.

Both show two simple times. The MAX value shows the time for the last possible smoke circle meanwhile the MIN shows the time for the first generated smoke circle. Keep in mind that it is possible that the last possible smoke circle doesn’t get generated.

Features

  • Adds two timers
  • Detects automatically if the ship can use smoke
  • doesn’t trigger while in chat or in the menu
  • Compatible with every mod out there
  • Vertical and Horizontal possible
  • Easy customizeable with colors.

Limitations

  • Only QWERTZ and QWERTY keyboard layouts are currently supported
  • Uses WoWs standard keyboard controls
    • Each consumeabel slot (R,T,Z,U or R,T,Y,U depending on keayboard layout)
  • Never enter the chat with the mouse. T gets only deactivated if you enter the chat with the [ENTER] button
  • Pressing T while the timer runs resets it. No button smashing recommended

We work on solutions for these limitations. The mod works if used correctly so we decided to release it already and improve it from update to update.

Installation

Move all files into the current res_mods version folder. For example: ~res_mods/0.15.5.2

If you use “QWERTZ” as a keyboard layout then follow these steps:

  • Go to your current res_mods version folder
  • Open up PnFMods and then SmokeCounter
  • Open up Settings.py in a editor
  • Change ‘QWERTY’ to ‘QWERTZ’

Customize Color:

You can add and change the colors of the timer. Just open up the Settings.py file and change the Lerp Color ramp values.

Important: The percantage numbers most follow the order. The biggest percentage number comes always first. The smallest is always the last one.

Thank You

iku_19 for helping me doing this modification. Without your support I wouldn’t have been able to do this.

  1. Does not work for me in current 0.6.1 version anymore 🙁
The counter does not show up ingame. Can you update it please?

    1. Do you mean 0.6.0.1?

It works on my end there.

If you mean 0.6.1.0 => We can’t check it now since it didn#t got released. PTS doesn’t get supported from us.

    1. it should still work as long as you don’t use the latest upgrades for your ship that change the timing of the smoke.

  2. Great mod that works well for all my ships except Belfast. The clock never starts when smoke is popped. Belfast’s smoke generator is engaged with the Y key normally, but even when switching it to the normal T key, the clock still does not start. Any thoughts?

    1. Look up the settings file located at res_mods/current_version/PnFMods/smoke counter/

and try changing the qwertz to qwerty or the other way around and change the smoke key back again.

    1. Did you check the keyboard settings? I have multiple reportings form british cruiser players that it works without any problems at all.

    1. I’m currently working on the new UI for the Smoke Counter. Still have to fix some small bugs. Also going to check whut happened in the meantime.

    1. Smoke Counter doesn’t work right now and I sadly can’t fix it due to backend changes in the modapi.

      Sry
